Evidence of research into other students work

As part of my research i had to look at past students blogs so i could get some inspiration. One of the pieces fro a past student called Natalie really inspired me because her work looked to professional and tidy. She had put so much effort into her work and made it look really appealing. Her designs also relate to mine because her design was simple and sophisticated and i am going for that sort of design to.I can see that she has herself, also got some inspiration from magazines related to what she wanted to do.

Below is Natalie's double page spread from her magazine. I really like how simple the layout is because it looks tidy and organised. I don't think she can improve on anything but personally i would change the colours around so that it fit in with the genre of music i have chosen. I also like the language she has used because it is quiet formal, and it links in with the layout and image because they are quiet formal too. I will use some of these ideas and use them as research to help me towards creating my own magazine.

Below is Natalie's contents page. This really caught my eye because the design is very eye-catching. I like how the column is put to one side so it looks neat and tidy and it also gives room to add additional images to make the page look more interesting and appealing to the reader as they will be able to see clearly what is inside of the magazine. I can also see that she has took some of the images herself, this makes it even more interesting because then the images are unique and it shows effort. Again, i personally would change the colour scheme if it was my magazine because those colours don't really go with my chosen theme.

Overall, i think looking at Natalie's work has gave me so much inspiration and ideas that i can apply to my own research and magazine. Her ideas fit really well together. The way she has designed her work is very simplistic, that is the sort of layout i am going for.
