I really like the layout of this magazine as it is detailed and eye-catching. You can see that the main sell line stands out because of the font and color used.
You can also really focus on the image as it is in the centre, even though there is quiet a bit of writing around.
The cover lines also look effective because they are a different color to the rest of the magazine.
You can clearly see that the model on the front cover is in a band called 'Arctic Monkeys' because it is in a bold font just above the main sell line.

This front cover is quiet similar to the one above. but i think this one looks more simplistic as there is less text and it focuses more on the image and main sell line.
I really like the colors used in this front cover because it goes well with the mood of the image. It gives off quiet a calm vibe which may appeal to the target audience.
Before

I was advised by my teachers to change a few things around. The main things that i changed were the colour scheme, moving the title forward and changing around the cover lines.
After

Because i have changed the color scheme of my front
cover, i now have to change my contents page and double age spread and make them match throughout. I am going to record my changes so that i can see how they have developed.
I have added a tag line so that the target audience will know what the title means. I also inserted the Instagram, Facebook and twitter icons to make it look more ike a front cover and not a poster. To make the tagline, i used Tagline generator and it helped me come up with a catchy slogan which is... 'If you've got the time, we've got the Unique'.
Contents page before
You can see here that the colors are quiet bold and stand out. but once i changed my front cover color scheme, i needed to change my contents page. I also think that this contents page lacked images and didn't look to interesting which is what I'm trying to avoid.
Contents page after
Here i have completely changed the color scheme and layout. I made it so that it would corresponds with the front cover. I may make more changes as i go along, but for now i quiet like the way it is.

These are contents pages from published magazines such as NME and Q magazine.
I took some inspiration from the layouts as i think they look simplistic but detailed. I also like how the text is separated from the image as it helps you focus on the main image. Again, i like how this contents page has used an additional image at the bottom, as it makes it look more interesting.

In todays lesson i have managed to get a lot done. I have sorted my front cover and contents page out (layout) and i just have a few little changes to make before it is complete. I will start writing my article up next lesson for my double page spread.
