Double page spread inspirations

The piece of material above was given to me from a teacher. This breaks apart the different areas which will help me when it comes to the layout and meaning. It also explains the meaning of the double page spread sited of just pointing out its features. This may also help me when it comes to exam work and I can use it for revision material. 

Before making final decisions for my double page spread, i wanted to look at existing ones in more detail. This double page spread is from the  'Q' Magazine which has been a big part of my research. First of all, i like how the conventions are layer out. The masthead goes across both pages and is in large bold text that really stands out. And underneath the masthead is some simple designs in pastel colours which gives it that bit extra detail and the colours contrast with the image, and you can see the color theme which is an orange and pink and i think it emphasizes the mood of the text as being relaxed and calm.  The prop used in the image also links in really well with the magazine as it links in with my chosen genre (indie-pop), and it brings the whole page together. I think the guitar has a really nice affect on the image and makes it look more interesting rather than just seeing a model on its own. 

Underneath the masthead is a short introduction which informs the audience on what the article is about, and i think that is a useful way of concluding all of your text into one paragraph rather than going straight into the article.  By looking at the article the language used is quite informative and uses lots of date releases and references to the albums he had launched. So this is informing the audience of albums he has had over the years and what he lans to do in the future. some of the language used in the article is quite poetic. 

• "Writing songs about places and people who come out of my life creates a real sense of imagery of nature and the world around him".
• "Listening to his music is a self-discovering journey full of nostalgia and reflectiveness".

these sentences are used to describe Ben's music and  show that it has a positive impact on people who listen to it as they use it to be calm and reflect on life. 

Here are screenshots of the making process of my double page spread, and you will see how to changes. For the title i used 1001 fonts because photoshop didn't have a font that i wanted.

This is my article that goes across one side of the double page spread.  i may change the colors and layout, but for now i like the way it is. I am happy with the amount of writing because it isn't too much or too little.
